The Holidays

It's my absolute favorite time of year! Thanksgiving is always so special and although not all of our family was together and were missed-we had a nice and intimate time at Jen and Clem's chatting in the kitchen and playing with the boys. Now that Thanksgiving has passed, Chris and I are having a blast decorating for Christmas. This year is extra special since it is our first year as husband and wife. We are really looking forward to picking out our first real tree together. For those of you who know me-yes, my shopping is done and all the gifts are already wrapped. There's nothing like wrapped presents in the corner of your living room to remind you of the coming holiday.

Still we are busy with work, working out, and Chris is still taking those CPA exams-one more to go! We will be getting a break, however, on Valentine's Day when we depart on our cruise heading to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. I know, I know...we just got back from our Honeymoon, but we couldn't help ourselves. We got an incredible deal and LOVE to travel. It's a passion we both share and we are counting down the days.

We're looking forward to Christmas and hope to see each and every family member. Barkhouses, let's try to get together more..we miss you!!!

Happy Holidays.....from the Mr. and Mrs. :)

Autumn

Hello! As the leaves change color so do our lives! Wedding planning was crazy and then after the wedding we felt a sort of lull. We worked, we came home, we had dinner, we picked out our clothes for the next day, we packed lunch and then we went to bed. Life slowed down and also felt boring for a minute there....but before you know it the pace changes again. I mentioned before that Chris is taking his CPA exams and he passed his second one, so now he has two more to go. He is literally studying every spare minute he gets. The next exam is on Halloween. Once he completes this exam he will have one left and should complete them all by Christmas. Then he will immediately start Grad School in January. I, too, am studying for my Praxis I exam for Grad School, but won't begin until this Summer. I joined the Book Club at work and am reading a novel a month (which is something I haven't done since...no..not even in college) and I also joined the Social Committee (imagine that) which plans all of our organization's events. Both of us have gotten back into our working out. Chris heads to the gym after work while I head to either pilates, Tae-Boxing, or spin class.

We've been spending as much time as we can squeeze in doing "Fall" things. We've gone apple-picking and will be heading up next weekend to the Annual Keene, NH Pumpkin Festival. We are looking forward to Thanksgiving to spend time with our family and I especially have been brainstorming ideas of what to make now that I have my new KitchenAide Stand Mixer (wedding gift). So Family, have high expectations!!!

We love you!

Welcome!!

Hey, thanks for stopping by!

Chris and I are so excited to start this new life together. So excited, in fact, we've decided to share our excitement with everyone. Many of you know that before the wedding we jumped into the world of real estate (and at a good time) and purchased our first home. This was stressful but worth it because now we are living in the very condo we fell in love with. It is located in Glastonbury right in the center of town. We can literally walk anywhere-restaurants, grocery shopping (Whole Foods-nonetheless), our bank, our dentist, our doctor, the library, shopping-it's all right out our front door. We are very happy with our first home!

Currently, Chris (being the ambituous person he is) is preparing for his second CPA exam in the series of four. The CPA exam has a reputation for being almost impossible to pass, but so far Chris is doing great and keep your fingers crossed for the second one. Both he and I are preparing for our return to college-Grad school that is. I am studying for the Praxis I, which is required for Academic Counseling and most likely will attend either UConn or CCSU. Chris will be attending UConn or Univ. of Hartford for his MBA in either Accounting or Finance. It will be a busy few years, but definitely worth it since our tuition will be FREE-thanks to our great jobs. I am working at the UConn Foundation, Inc. in Human Resources and Chris works as an auditor for the government (p.s. he just got a raise-congrats to him!).

Our honeymoon, in St. Maarten, was incredible. We stayed at the Westin at Dawn Beach. It is an absolutely gorgeous hotel. The sun shined everyday. We went jet skiing and zip lining. Of course we spent the majority of the time laying on the beach or near the pool soaking up the sun. It was a great week of relaxing and reflecting on the best day of our lives-Our Wedding Day!

Life has gone back to being busy since the honeymoon. Every Monday-Friday we're at work and every weekend is booked. It seems there is never enough time in a day and we aticipate life to only get busier.

We're busy, we're in love!
